*A NATIONAL ASSEMBLY THAT WORKS FOR NIGERIA*

The campaign committee for the 9th assembly Senate President, *Senator Ahmad Lawan*, held a private celebration party for its executives and principal officials yesterday at the campaign secretariat, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja-Nigeria. During the occasion, the Senate President reiterated his commitment to *a united and people-centred 9th senate that is dedicated to the service of the Nigerians people*. The senate president promised to improve the legislative process and harness technology to increase NASS effectiveness and efficiency

Prince Ade Omole, APC UK Leader, who represented Nigerians in the Diaspora appealed to the Senate President to include Diaspora voting on the 9th assembly agenda and reach out to Nigerians in the Diaspora that are willing and ready to add value to Nation building tasks in Nigeria. He also informed the Senate President of the *APC UK think-tank headed by Otunba Ade Adeshina*. Prince Ade Omole gave a short brief to the house, explaining that APC UK think-tank is committed to playing a fundamental role in shaping policies that will support the APC Next Level agenda. The think-tank is presently mobilising expertise to drive innovative change and building Diaspora networks in order to nurture ideas and catalyse action.

Senator Ahmad Lawan promised to focus on legislative intervention as a matter of urgency to effect a change of course in the following areas:

b) Economy
c) Criminal Legislative Reform
d) Public Finance Management Legislations
e) Anti-Corruption
f) Youth Unemployment
g) Diaspora Matters
h) Standard of Education
i) Healthcare Services
j) Social Safety-net
k) Constitutional Amendments
