The Agege central Mosque has been sealed up by the LGA Authorities over non-compliance of the lockdown order.
The Chief press secretary to the Governor of Lagos State, Gboyega Akosile reported the situation on Twitter
“Agege LGA officials have successfully sealed up the Agege Central Mosque for violating the state government’s order on a religious gathering in the fight against the spread of the #COVID19 pandemic. An opportunity was also taken to disinfect the area.”
The lockdown order which was meant to curtail the effectiveness of transmission of the novel Coronavirus was disobeyed by the Central Mosque in Agege, and as such, the penalty for disobeying the lockdown order gives the room to lockdown the mosque and keep people away from worshipping in the mosque until a later time.
