Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike again declared the state as a Christian state, adding that he owed no apologies to anyone.
The governor spoke at the rally of the Holy Spirit organized by the redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), held on Sunday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium.
He said, “Without God, the enemies would have taken control of the state. I thank the Church for its firmness.
“They prayed that the will of God be done and the will of God made. But for your prayers, I will not be here as governor of Rivers State.
“Whenever I have the opportunity, I repeat the statement with authority and I must not apologize to anyone. I am standing on a solid authority. Rivers is a Christian state.
Wike said to stay governor because of God’s intervention.
He said that God had dislodged the “forces of darkness” who were ready to deprive him of his mandate.
He described himself as a living testimony of God’s blessing.
“Nigerians are aware of what happened on March 9, 2019. If anyone says he does not believe in God, this March 9 event should make you believe in God,” he said. added.
