A Kano trial court on Friday ordered a 24-year-old man, Ahmad Suleiman, to be remanded in Kano Correctional Center for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl.
Suleiman, an unemployed man who lives in the village of Kachako, in the local government area of Takai in Kano, is on trial for rape.
Earlier, the police prosecutor, Insp. Pogu Lale told the court that an Abubakar Usman from the same village reported the matter to the Kachako police station on November 21.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge laid against him.
