The chief judge of federal capital territory (FCT) high court, Ishaq Bello has attacked members of the national assembly who “contribute nothing” but sleep at plenary sessions.
Judge Bello, while speaking at the opening session of a two-day capacity building workshop for young lawyers in Abuja on Monday, charged older politicians, senior attorneys and leaders in other sectors to allow the younger era who have the capabality to effect the much needed change in the country.
“When I see aged people sleeping at the senate or house of reps, contributing nothing when they have young people at their constituencies to promote, I feel ashamed,” he said.
He also talked about the crisis which poked on Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) election that presented Olumide Akpata as its president.
Bello in his speech also pleaded with senior barristers to accept Akpata, a non-senior advocate of Nigeria, as the head of NBA.
