The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday stated that it was set to conduct a “conclusive governorship election” in Ondo State
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the Ondo State, Rufus Akeju who disclosed this during the course of an event in Akure, the state capital, counselled the youth to steer clear of violence as the October 10, 2020 election looms.
The Election officer elucidated that the Ondo gubernatorial polls would be conducted to conform with the best practices and be acceptable to all stakeholders in the state.
In reference to Akeju, INEC was working towards abolishing vote-buying, voter apathy and other problems affiliated with elections in the country.
He said, “I want to assure you that the INEC is committed to the conduct of the free, fair, credible, conclusive, and acceptable election in Ondo State come Saturday, October 10, 2020, in line with international best practices.”
