Moment while the entire universe is yet battling with the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been hinted also that they also prepare for bigger climate disruptions sooner.

Speaking on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020, at the international mother Earth Day, the United Nations secretary general, António Guterres, called the attention of the world to prepare as he foresee another crisis coming different from the current Coronavirus pandemic.

He said the world is about to be faced with another deep emergency, in addition that the biodiversity(the diversity i.e, number and variety of species of plant and animal life within a region), was declining severely and climate disruption approaching a point of no return.

“Although the world is currently occupied with the COVID-19 pandemic, the world will be facing another deep emergency which his the planet’s unfolding environmental crisis”, He said.

He added that much has been spent already to regain from the COVID-19, we must deliver new Jobs and business through a clean, green transition.

He said: “Climate risk and opportunities must be incorporated into the financial system of the world as well as all aspects of public making infrastructure.”

“Fiscal firepower must drive a shift from the grey to green economy, and make societies and people more resilient. We need an end to fossil fuel subsidies and the need for environmental polluters to be held accountable and made to pay compensation”, he concluded.
