The newly appointed Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, has undertaken to reposition the Nigerian oil sector and pave the way for the future show.
Mr Ndu Ughamadu, General Manager of the NNPC Group, Group Public Affairs Division, quoted him as a pledge to work with the experts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other ministry departments and agencies.
At a welcome ceremony in the NNPC towers in Abuja, Sylva said he was confident the nation’s oil and gas sector would move to the next level, given the caliber of ministry workers.
“I would like to know what’s going on at the Ministry. “Only then will we sit down and reposition the ministry and find a way forward,” he said.
Sylva was special advisor to former oil minister Edmund Daukoru 15 years ago. Previously, the Permanent Secretary Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan Sylva is convinced of the readiness of all ministry staff to support him in the successful implementation of the Nigerian oil and gas sector for the benefit of all concerned.
Others at the ceremony were the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mele Kyari; Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Training Development Fund (PTDF), Bello Aliyu Gusau; and the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF), including Alhaji Ahmed Bobboi.
